Destination: Salkantay

Time: 5 days / 4 nights

Day 01: Cusco - Mollepata -Soraypampa

Early in the day, we will leave Cusco with you tour guide and associates, going through Uzuchaca and Limatambo and after 3 hours we will arrive in Mollepata (2800 m.a.s.l.). After a light breakfast we will start a long but slow trip to the area known as Silca where we will have luch. Later, we will continue between valleys and mountains, looking at snowcapped mountains such as Huamatay (5217 m.a.s.l) and Salkantay (6264 m.a.s.l.). Later we will continue through green areas and beautiful landscape until we arrive in Tucarhuay, also known as Soraypampa (3700m) where we will spend the night after having dinner.

Day 02: Soraypampa - Challway

After breakfast, we will start hiking on this special part of our trek because we will cross the Salkantay prairie and get to the highest point of our trip, Paso Salkantay (4600 m.a.s.l.) and Humantay, an imposing snowcapped mountain where we will able to take in the majesty of the Andes.
After lunch, we will continue hiking to Huayrac where we will have indescribable views of this area, and later continue to the 2nd camp on terraces in a place known as challway. Dinner and overnight at this location.

Day 03: Challway - Winaypoco- La Playa (the beach)

After breakfast, our trip will be unforgettable because we will see how the nature changes completely. We will go between mountains, and then snowcapped mountains with a diversity flora and fauna. Later we will hike nearby the native community of Arranyanniyoc and we start descend into the edge of the jungle. Going thru a cloud forest, we will see the formation of the thermal baths that follow the course of the river Santa Teresa. Because the humidity and warm temperature of this area, a microclimate exists that helps grow orchids. The orchids colors and variety have been cataloged by the experts as the most beautiful of the world. We will have the opportunity to meet some families who live in this part of the Andes.
Finally, we will arrive at our camp which is in the zone known as La playa (the beach) and after dinner we will spend the night at this camp.

Day 04: La playa - Aguascalientes

After breakfast we will start hiking along the edge of the jungle which has a semi-tropical and humid climate, with a variety of coffee crops, coca, and fruit trees. We will see this type of landscape along our trip until we will arrive in Sahuayaco where we will have lunch. Looking out we can see Machupicchu and Wayna Picchu in the distance. We will descend to the old central Hydroelectric site where we will travel by train to the town of Aguascalientes and later we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 05: AguasCalientes - Machupicchu - Cusco

Early in the morning, right after breakfast at the lodge or hotel, we will travel by bus and ascend to Machupicchu. We will visit the citadel of Machupicchu , and it's urban and agricultural zones, also we will visit the towers, ceremonial squares, sacred fountain, intihuatana (solar clock) and terraces where we will look at the domains of the Incas.
Later we will travel by bus, going down to pick up our luggage from our hotel and then to the train station to go back to the city of Cusco. End of our service.
